About MACC
Who We Are
The Mukwonago Area Community Choir is a non-audition choir based in Mukwonago, WI, founded by our director, John Anello III, in 2009. Our group rehearses Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM (September to early May). Typically, we prepare two repertoire sets, or Symposia, for the year: a Christmas program and a Spring program. If you are interested in singing with the group, please get in touch with John via phone/text, email, Facebook, or this website, ask a current choir member, or just come to a rehearsal early in September or towards the end of January.

Our Founding Director
John D. Anello, III, has a BM (87) and MME (92) from UW-Whitewater and did his post-graduate work at UW-Madison. He has also spent three summers studying vocal jazz at Western Michigan with Phil Matson and Steve Zegree. John was also privileged to be chosen as one of 100 music educators in the US to sing with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Oak Ridge Boys to celebrate the 100th anniversary of MENC. Additionally, in 1996, '98, and 2000, Mr. Anello participated in The Classical Music Festival held annually in Eisenstadt, Austria, where he was able to perform many of Haydn's works where they were initially performed and even had the distinct privilege of singing the Mozart Requiem in the church where it was first performed in Vienna.
John is married to Kelly, a chiropractor in the area, and between them, they have three magnificent sons. Joel is an outstanding athlete who runs on a scholarship at Belmont University while studying exercise science with a minor in business. Gio is a multi-year NATS award-winning singer pursuing Vocal Performance and Choral/General Music Education degrees at UW-Stevens Point and a secondary degree in Vocal Performance. Our youngest, Luke, is enlisted in the Marines, where he has been awarded the "Ironman" and "Honorman" awards and is proudly serving our country.
